Church Women United

Church Women United, founded in 1941, is a grassroots movement of women
who share a vision of Christian unity and prayerful action through our shared
Christian faith. There are more than 1,000 local and state units in the United
States working for peace and justice.

Our South County Unit links women across denominational lines to address
issues of local and global concerns. We have 3 or 4 annual celebrations:
May Friendship Day, World Community Day, World day of Prayer and Human
Rights Day. We hold an annual retreat in the fall. We organize Lenten Worship/Luncheons during
Lent.

We meet the third Tuesday of the month except December and the summer months (June, July, and August) at the
Wakefield Baptist Church, Main St. Wakefield RI.  All women are welcomed.
